Have you been noticing the complaints about X premium subscriptions but not so much about the other social networks that charge a premium for subscriptions?

Elon Musk’s platform seems to get the most negative news stories about the platform that wants users to pay for it’s usage.

Twitter X subscriptions stories tend to be negative.
Usually posts about X subscriptions tend to be negative.

Like this story about how X is doing worse than thought by Yahoo News.

They claim:

X-formerly-Twitter is still bleeding advertisers under Elon Musk’s characteristically unpredictable leadership — and the situation may be even more dire than we’d thought.

As Insider reports, marketing consultancy Ebiquity found that the vast majority of the biggest spenders have stopped advertising on X following Musk’s ill-fated takeover last year.

However, Elon Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino have other things to say. And the company is now private, not publicly-held as it once was.

Time will tell, who is telling the truth about this one.

Social Media Networks Subscriptions

LinkedIn

For years the social network LinkedIn has offered paid subscriptions that start at $39.99/mo and other higher amount subscriptions based on other variables. The highest is $8,999 per year for LinkedIn recruiter!

They do offer a free trial but you have to put in a credit card and if you forget you will be charged monthly.

Meta

Meta has launched verified accounts on their platforms for both Facebook and Instagram.

Their paid subscriptions start at $11.99 and go up to $27 per month for both Facebook and Instagram verifications. There is talk of other subscription based plans coming in the near future as well on Meta

YouTube Premium

Yes, even YouTube offers premium services so you don’t have to watch ads and comes with a few perks. The price is at $13.99 per month to have an ad-free version of the app.

It includes offline viewing on the app as well.

Reddit

The Reddit social platform also offers a premium subscription at $5 per month. These are also ad-free and comes with few perks like exclusive avatar gear and custom app icons and the ability to join the r/lounge.

The r/lounge is where you will find all the latest updates on Reddit.

Beware, their service auto-renews each month unless you cancel as most of the others do.

TikTok

Tik is testing a new subscription model for $4.99/per month. This one is also supposed to be ad-free based subscription.

Twitter X

Twitter has been charging $8 per month, or $84 for the year to save you $12 per year in the United States. They do charge differently in other countries.

X offers a lot of perks with their subscription based model:

  • Verified Blue Checkmarks.
  • Ability to edit posts within 1st hour of posting, but not post replies.
  • Text formatting, make text bolder, etc.
  • Extra bookmarks, that you can organize — a great feature to stay organized on the Twitter X platform.
  • Custom app icons- changing colors, etc.
  • Pinning of 10 Twitter lists.
  • Spaces tab on the app so you can easily follow spaces.
  • Longer videos — up to 2 hours long.
  • Longer Twitter X posts — up to 10,000 characters long.
  • and more!

As you can see from the above X gives you more value for your money with the perks that come with the Blue Subscription service.

Hatred Of Blue Subscribers On X

It was sad to see some subscribers wanting to hide their checkmarks as they were being harrassed by others for having the checkmark.

Why The Difference With Elon Musk and X?

People often express more animosity towards Elon Musk compared to figures like Mark Zuckerberg due to a variety of reasons.

Musk’s outspoken and says what he thinks on social media. Additionally, his involvement in various industries, such as electric vehicles and space exploration, has resulted in increased scrutiny from different stakeholders which is ironic since it’s about green energy.

Some people feel a sense of resentment towards Musk’s wealth.

However, are they willing to work 24/7 to make that kind of money? Not many people are willing to sacrifice everything to run a company, never mind 6 companies.

jealousy
As they say, jealousy can be a mental cancer.

But why no animosity towards Mark Zuckerberg or the heads of the other social media networks like YouTube? Mark made over $48 million per year running Meta according to Pay Wizard.

According to CEO World the highest-paid chief executive in 2022 was Sundar Pichai of Alphabet (GOOG). Pichai was paid $225 million.

And Elon Musk is probably not making a dime on Twitter X yet after he paid $44 billion in 2022.

So you can see there is a difference of opinion on the social networks CEO’s and networks just like everything else in the world today, sadly.

Maybe it’s jealousy that is at the root of it all.
