Important marketing lessons from the US presidential election.

As we reflect on the presidential election of 2024 I saw a few important marketing lessons that marketers can learn from.

Here Are The Best Marketing Lessons

Money Doesn’t Buy The Most Votes or Sales.

The vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris raised a billion dollars for the campaign. Now she (her campaign) is in at least $20 million in debt.

The former President Trump was 5x less money than her but still he won. She had 5x more money spent on campaigning.

The Lesson: You can market your business for less, you have to choose wisely where to spend your money.

Authenticity Matters For Leads

President Trump always acted as himself. Whether he was being shot, working at McDonalds or sitting in the garage truck he was the same person.

Vice President Harris acted differently. She spoke with different accents try to appease those who were listening to her on any given day.

The marketing lesson here:

Being yourself when in front of your potential clients is imperative. People want to know who they are doing business with.
