auto-post on X during us presidential election
Will your posts be seen on X closer to the US election?

As we head into the final weeks and days before the US Presidential election, I wonder if you or I should auto-post to X Twitter in the final stretch?

Most of the recent posts on X and Facebook I’ve seen are about the upcoming election. If you are not posting about politics, will your posts about other topics get noticed as much with the algorithms?

The X Twitter Algorithm

The X algorithm tailors your feed by keeping track of your interactions — what you like, share, and who you follow. It also knows who you send messages back and forth to and shows your post to them more than other users on the platform.

It ranks posts (tweets) based on their relevance and potential to engage you, constantly updating to offer a more captivating experience while screening out unsuitable content.

Auto-Posting Schedules

So if you use auto-posting to X Twitter with scheduling tools it will depend if your audience is still engaging with your content on the X social network.

There are tools to utilize today like Agorapulse, the Buffer, Fedica, and Circlebloom. All allow you to auto-schedule your posts to X Twitter.

However, I’ve noticed most people even if they engage on niche topics are getting lured into political content, myself included from time to time.

It will affect our lives this year and beyond; it has become the focus of many people as voting has begun in several states.

The Danger of Auto-Posting To X

The one danger of auto-posting to X Twitter is if something big happens in the world and you don’t want your scheduled posts to go out. Make sure your social media schedule tool can cancel all of them quickly for you.

If you don’t keep track of the world or events local events you could use the GroundNews app to keep you aware of news events. The beauty of the app is that it allows you to check the news bias of any story and you can get breaking news alerts.

Boost Your Engagement On X

You may need to post your engagement on X (and Facebook) for the remainder of this month and up to the election or shortly after that to get people still to see your posts on the social media platform.

I see many friends on social media changing their posts from blogging or other niche markets to political content. Some have completely become political activists.

The Right To Free Speech

Everyone has the right to what they believe and post what they believe in. There should not be “fact-checkers” on your social media posts today as none are in the “middle.” (As long as the language is not foul or life-threatening, threats of killing someone or a group of people.)

We’ve learned over the last few years there are 2 sides to every story. You may remember Facebook admitting to censoring content during the pandemic even if it was not “true.”

Be Polite

If you do decide to engage in political content on X Twitter be sure to remain polite with those that disagree with you. There is no need to swear or belittle anyone for their beliefs.

If you can’t remain calm maybe it’s best you stay away from the mainstream content and stick to your Twitter lists. An X Twitter list can keep you focused while on the network.

Of course, if you use a 3rd party tool to respond to replies and for posting it will keep you off the social platform altogether during this US presidential election season.

Will you be posting more or less in the coming weeks on social media?
