Hi Jack, I'm not sure how long I've been on medium, I'd guess a few years and I have 4K followers. I don't post often but I love to read others content and comment and like from time to time. You are correct about being consistent, that is a must on any network that you want to grow :) Too many people don't have patience for it , so stick with it and you will see the difference.
